After Miss Universe's Victory, Chidimma Adetshina Would Withdraw From Pageants.

Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has stated her intention to retire from beauty pageants following her historic performance in the 2024  Miss Universe competition.  In an exclusive interview with BBC Pidgin on Tuesday, Adetshina highlighted her delight in her accomplishment,  which she said exceeded her expectations.  Adetshina was crowned first runner-up in the worldwide pageant,  which took place on November 16 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City,  marking a new milestone for Nigeria on the international scene.  She is the first Nigerian and West African runner-up ever.   The 23-year-old, who competed against 125 other hopefuls, was also crowned  ‘‘Miss Universe’’,   Africa and Oceania.  "I was very emotional when I was called.

Nigeria Celebrates Their Miss Universe

Abuja, Nigeria. Nigerians are celebrating Chidimma Adetshina's victory at the Miss Universe competition in Mexico on Saturday . Adetshina was crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania despite finishing first runner up.  Stephanie Kingsley, another Nigerian beauty queen, spent Saturday watching the contest through her social media stream.  She stated her heart raced with fear as Adetshina, 23, rose to the top five and eventually emerged as the first runner-up,  trailing only Miss Denmark,  Victoria Kjaer Theilvig.  "I was talking to my friend in the U.K.," Kingsley added.  "We had been on the phone for about two hours and were yelling.  We felt goosebumps the entire time. As a pageant contestant,  I'm quite proud and appreciative.
